An elliptical, handmade 925 sterling silver bangle inspired by the Nereids, the sea nymphs of Greek myth. Its soft, fluid lines follow the movement of water, and a raised centre setting lifts a single sea-coloured aquamarine forward.

The Story
In Greek myth the Nereids were the fifty daughters of Nereus, the old man of the sea — nymphs who carried every mood of the water in them. Sailors told of them rising alongside a ship that had lost its way in a storm and guiding it back into calm water. This bangle takes its name from them.
The form follows that idea rather than illustrating it. Handmade in an ellipse, the band moves the way water moves: it begins as a fine line, thickens softly toward the centre, and comes to rest in a raised setting shaped to lift the aquamarine forward. The stone takes its own name from aqua marina — sea water — and is the birthstone of March.
Because every piece is shaped by hand and set with natural stones, small differences in colour, form and texture make each Nereid its own.
